UPRISING DEVOTIONAL 20

On your feet now—applaud God! Bring a gift of laughter, sing yourselves into his presence. Know this: God is God, and God, God. He made us; we didn’t make him. We’re his people, his well-tended sheep. Enter with the password: “Thank you!” Make yourselves at home, talking praise. Thank him. Worship him. For God is sheer beauty, all-generous in love, loyal always and ever.

PSALMS 100

Worship is what we are made for and there is no way out of it. Whether our worship is offered to God or to something else, we will worship. We must be aware of what sits in our heart’s seat of honor and make sure that it is what is most worthy of our worship.
In Psalms 100, we are reminded of what worship looks like. It is us standing to our feet. It is us applauding. It is us bringing the gift of joy and gratitude with our words. Talking praise. This looks like things we do in many different settings. The seat of honor that is in our hearts must be occupied by God so that He receives all of the glory from our worship.

Revival evicts the placeholders in our hearts and reestablishes God in the place of honor in our hearts!

We are also reminded in Psalms 100 why God should hold such a precious place in our heart! We are told to know that God is God. He made us and not the other way around. Do you want to worship that some man created or the God of all creation? It share that we have a shepherd of God and we, his sheep, are well cared for. God is sheer beauty, all generous in love. He is loyal and faithful, always and ever!! Totally worth my heart’s attention! Revival evicts the placeholders in our hearts and reestablishes God in the place of honor in our hearts!

THINK IT OVER:

  1. What things has God done that have caused your heart to stand to it’s feet and to applaud Him?
  2. What man made things need to be evicted from your heart and replaced with God?
  3. Practice talking praise and saying thank you to God for who He is and what He has done. Sing yourself into His presence.
