Invitation to 21 Days of Fasting and Prayer

Invitation to 21 Days of Fasting and Prayer

Join us for 21 Days of Fasting & Prayer starting November 2nd – November 23rd.

We believe our purpose for these 21 days is clear, that we as a church will fully develop a heart like God’s, that we will become desperate for the salvation of our family, friends, city, area & world, and that our nation will turn its heart toward Jesus. We believe, that during this time, God will respond by depositing His love & His heart into our church and our lives on a greater level. We also believe that great victory will come out of this for every single one of us.

Here is what the 21 Days of Fasting & Prayer will look like:

DURING THE 21 DAYS OF November 2 – 23

We will be meeting for 3 Nights of Worship & Prayer on Tuesday November 4, November 11, & November 18th from 7pm to 8pm.

We are asking that all Connect Groups abstain from food during their meetings throughout these 21 days.

There will be a daily video devotional offered here online and they will be linked to our Facebook page each day.

TYPES OF FASTING

1. Full Fast: Only drinking liquids. You will establish the number of days of this type of fast, then move to one of the other types below.

2. Partial Fast: Give up a meal a day or a specific type of food. This is not just a diet but an actual denial of self. This fast should be done for the duration of our fast.

3. Media Fast: Eliminate social networking, internet, or television. This fast should be done for the duration of our fast.

The way you should fast is prayerfully. During the time you would normally be eating, watching TV, or on your computer should be the time you are in prayer and meditating on God’s Word.

A Last Thought:

Remember although we are corporately fasting, it is not for any reason other than our stated purpose.  It’s not to impress anyone so don’t feel pressure to do more than you feel the Holy Spirit is leading you to do. It is a time for personal sacrifice and to grow closer to God. If you are considering fasting from food, please consult your medical care provider before you begin. We look forward to hearing the amazing things God will do during this time.
