UPRISING DEVOTIONAL 18

Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.

2 Corinthians 9:6

I believe that we can take more away from this scripture than just the simplistic thought about money, that most of us only want to think about.
I believe that if we only give part of our life to God, we will see only a part of what God truly has for us. However, if we want to “KNOW” God and have an intimate relationship with Him, we must sow all of ourselves to Him. We have to live a life of abandonment that says to God, “You are all that matters to me.”

He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.

John 3:30 (NLT)

In order for our intimacy and relationship with God to grow, we must become less. Giving God room to grow in our life because we are getting out of His way. Our life has to reflect that of someone saying, “God, I want what you want and I am letting go of what I want”.

THINK IT OVER:

  1. What is one thing in your life that you can leave behind, in order to gain intimacy with Christ?
  2. How can you become less, so that he can become greater?
