UPRISING DEVOTIONAL 17

UPRISING DEVOTIONAL 17

“Blessed and fortunate and happy and spiritually prosperous (in that state in which the born-again child of God enjoys His favor and salvation) are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God), for they shall be completely satisfied! [Isa. 55:1, 2.]”

Matthew 5:6 AMP

I love how the word of God uses the terminology of hunger and thirst. It shows us that there is a posture for revival. The posture is one of desperation.
Hunger and thirst are sources of life. You can’t live without eating and drinking. Meaning our life is no life at all if we don’t eat or drink of the presence of God. Spiritual hunger and thirst are the key to blessing, favor, and joy in our lives. Matthew assure us that if we get hungry and thirsty for the things of God, our hunger will be satisfied and our thirst quenched by the spirit of God.

Our life is no life at all if we don’t eat or drink of the presence of God.

Revival is the idea of reminding us that we need to be active and aggressive in our pursuit of God. He uses words like seeking, pursuing, and thirsting. The great part is, if we seek him, we will find him!

THINK IT OVER:

  1. In what ways am I pursuing God?
  2. Am I truly seeking God?
  3. What am I truly hungry for in life?
  4. In what ways can I change my appetite?
