Uprising Devotional 5

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch forth Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me. [Ps. 23:3, 4.]

Psalm 138:7 AMP

One of the reasons we find ourselves becoming dull spiritually, or distracted, or maybe just discouraged, is life. Life can be difficult and it can make you feel as if you are walking in the midst of trouble. When it rains it pours.
What causes a spiritual drought is when we get focused on the trouble, and then begin to try to fix it on our own. It has always amazed me, how many times people will go through something, and then run from God and the church, instead of, running to Him and His body.

Our circumstances may not experience revival, but we can and we will.

This scripture is powerful because the psalmist gets how revival works. The way we get over things is not always having those things change, but seeing us change. Our circumstances may not experience revival but we can and we will. God has the power that, in spite of our circumstances or our trouble, he can revive us. Yes, right in the middle of the problem. If we will trust in, rely on, and adhere to Him and his way of doing things, it will refresh, revive, and renew us. When we come to that place of surrender, we no longer have to take care of our those circumstances because he takes care of it for us.

THINK IT OVER

1. Is it hard for you to trust God with your circumstances?
2. Ask yourself, “What do I have to lose by letting God take control?”
3. Do you believe that God can revive you regardless of the trouble you may be going through?
4. In what ways can you release your troubles to God?
5. Make a list of troubles that are holding you back and ask God to revive you regardless of those troubles. Hand them over to Him and ask him to take care of it for you. Then, leave it with Him!
